Reducing the File Size and Simulation Time

 As mentioned in section 2.4, the standards prescribe certain minimum simulation times and sampling frequencies. These place heavy demands on computing facilities in that they necessitate large file sizes and long processing times. Steps have been taken to minimise the size of the files created as well as the time taken to complete both simulation and post-processing of data where this has not affected the quality of the results. The measures that were adopted are detailed in this section.
